Simple Faith

Dear friends,  spiritual faith enables our souls to be saved from sin.  Our souls obtain salvation from all our sins by faith in the Truth that is found in the Gospel of the water and the Spirit John 3:5.  The role of the Word in our lives is compared to that of a compass in a sailing boat on a boundless ocean.  Every book of the Bible focuses on the salvation of believers that is completed by Jesus Christ who came to this earth in the human flesh. He took all the sins of the world by being baptized by John the Baptist, shed His blood on the cross and was resurrected from the dead.

The Bible speaks of the birth of John the Baptist and the indispensability of his ministry prior to the initiation of the full scale ministry of Jesus. The baptism of Jesus at the Jordan River by John precedes the dispensation of grace rendered for the salvation of mankind. Jesus sacrificial death as a Lamb of God foreshadows the animal sacrifices for atonement in the Old Testament.  The laying on of hands on the sacrificial animals is symbolic of the baptism that Jesus receives from John the Baptist. This is God’s unilateral act of righteousness for wretched sinners like us.

Spiritual faith can be attained only by denying our own thoughts.  It is simply accepting God’s Word with an obedient heart to receive the real blessing of salvation by faith.

Friends, remember Peter, who threw the net all night but caught no fish.  When he said, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing nevertheless at Your Word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5.  Peter threw the net and was rewarded with many fishes.  If we really want to be a Christian with genuine faith, we should discard our own thoughts and believe God’s Word in all its truth. Our hearts must be lowly so that baby Jesus can be born in us, grow with us and become our King and Shepherd to lead us.

When we receive God’s Word by simple faith, its power transforms our heart. Our life of faith is not based on human thoughts but based on God’s Word.  It would lead us to God, help us to follow Him and  enables us to do God’s work.

Friends, we got out of sins just by accepting the Word of God and not by our own efforts.  When we accepted God’s Word into our hearts just as it is, all our sins  were cleansed as white as snow and we could live a genuine life of faith.  In the process we became righteous vessels who could live according to His Righteousness.  Without us realizing, our lives are set apart for God and transformed for His glory.

The faith that pursues God’s Righteousness enables us to bear genuine spiritual fruit.  The Word of God has the power to keep us in this true faith and to receive all blessings from God.
