Cleanse Your Heart With Your Faith
Tuesday, January 6th, 2015
A mirror reflects well when it is clear, if it gets dirty, your reflection looks dirtier than it actually is. What’s clear must be kept clear. Friends, we are truly cleansed by receiving the remission of sins. The Lord carried away all the sins of the world. By taking away all our sins as thick as the mist and the cloud, He has made us sinless. Our hearts therefore are like clear glass. It’s like a mirror. Even though dust may settle in our hearts, we must be conscious of the fact that the Lord has taken away all our sins.
Our walk with the Lord is in tandem to what we believe ourselves to be. We are sinless and righteous by faith. We are able to walk with the Lord all the time. Our hearts spring forth with the desire to pray and depend on the Lord.
Although we are now sinless, we are still insufficient and therefore we still commit sin constantly. However, we must know that the Lord has taken away all our sins through His baptism, death and resurrection. Unless we realise this, we cannot walk with the Lord even though we have received the remission of sins. If we do not admit and affirm our sins to the Lord Who has taken away our sins, then dross will accumulate in our hearts. It may also lead us to lose sight of the Lord and wander all alone. This is the reason we must constantly affirm the fact that there is no sin in our hearts. This is the very life of faith that we lead while walking with the Lord.
In reality, however, it is precisely these sins that cloud us in darkness and make us drift away from the Lord. Yes, it is true we are sinless and righteous by faith in the Righteousness of God. However, we must freely confess to God and affirm in our hearts that our sins have already been cleansed by Jesus’ baptism and death. Ephesians 5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible–and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
