House of Wisdom
The Bible identifies God not just as the source of wisdom, but wisdom itself. If we are to live in fellowship with God and walk in His wisdom, an important question arises: Where does God dwell? If I were to ask you today, “Where does God live?” what would your answer be? Perhaps some would say, “He is in heaven.” Others might point to a church building and say, “This is God’s house.” Throughout Scripture, He progressively reveals this desire through a series of houses, each pointing to His ultimate purpose of making His home within us through the Gospel of Water and Spirit.
Are You Wise or Foolish?
Throughout Scripture, God consistently contrasts the wise with the foolish. Whether it is the wise man building his house on the rock, the five wise virgins who were prepared for the bridegroom’s arrival, or Noah faithfully preparing the ark before the flood, God’s message remains the same: wisdom believes His Word, obeys it, and prepares for eternity before it is too late. As we look at James 3:13–18, we will consider three important truths: The Source, The Choice, and The Revelation of Wisdom.
Submitting to the Will of God
Submitting to the will of God is one of the clearest marks of genuine saving faith. Every believer who has been born again through the Gospel of the water and the Spirit has received not only forgiveness of sins but also a new heart that desires to obey God. Scripture consistently reveals that submission is not merely an outward act but the natural response of a heart transformed by God. Jesus Himself declared that those who do the will of God are His true family (Mark 3:31–35). Likewise, Psalm 40:8 expresses the longing of every believer: “I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.” God’s people do not obey Him because they are forced to, but because He graciously works within them, giving both the desire and the power to follow Him.
Submitting to God’s Greater Plan
While countless people have lived throughout history, only a few are remembered because their lives changed the course of events. In Christian history, one of the most influential figures is the Apostle Paul. Through his ministry, God used him to spread the gospel throughout the Gentile world, and nearly half of the New Testament bears his name. Yet before Paul became the apostle we know today, he was Saul—the fierce persecutor of the Church.
